hello all, here is the latest version of my business system.
This is ONE of many kits that would be made.
The kit comes in a box that slides open (kinda how software boxes slide open?) and it is "locked by the shape in the center. Inside the kit there is an short acceptance letter and a note about what is in the box. The box also comes with a trading card for kids to write their name on and trade. Let me know what you think.
(and the logo has changed a bit too :)

Business system version 2

Below is Business system 2

this business system revolves around the idea of the cut out shapes (anything that is solid white will be dye cuts)

the left is the business cards, the center is the interior of the acceptance letter, and the right is the cover.

Business system version 1

Below is my business system version 1:

The left is the front and back of the kids business cards, the center is the interior of their official acceptance letter, and the right is the outside of the letter.

The business card will be cut to fit the shapes in the background, it is difficult to see on the web. refer to my presentation. The top of the cover page will also be a cut out.

class critique

hello all,
here is the logos from the "final logo critique"

I was quite confused, mainly because this was a bran new idea that really hadnt had a chance to be worked through.

During the critique i found that people didnt like the color, and the shape didnt really look like a brain.
I also got the feeling that the text and shape werent intergrated enough.

so, i started over... again.. :(

On the left are a mess of brainstorming that in the end i think actually worked in getting all my ideas out onto paper. It was a rigorous process, but i think it worked! yay

Here is my final logo. Its an "Explosion" of science and communicates excitement. the line drawings give a nice texture and create a sense of investigation (which i believe kids will enjoy)

The shapes in the background actually do complete a square (just so u know where the shapes were made from-look above to one of the earlier versions)

let me know what you all think!! thanks

Science Alliance logo roughs

These are some roughs that i drew for the kits. It was suggested to perhaps do a wordmark that stayed consistent throughout all materials and the symbol (like the volcano) changes with each kit topic. I will be elaborating on that idea, as well as the concept of the vortex looking logo with my drawn type.

Research on kids science stuff

the "Smart Lab" is hilarious... what a terrible design! haha

My final logo re-design for WHCC combines their existing logo with their word mark. I believe it communicates what the actual company does and it fits with their existing branding scheme.
Here's the final:
FYI: the logo is supposed to be a navy blue color. I have no idea why it wont upload right!?

The logo I am re-designing is for White House Custom Colour. It is a professional printing service for photographers. They do everything digitally, and via ftp upload. It is then shipped within 2 business days.
the logo was originally:
Problems with the logo:
-lowercase (looks like its supposed to be one word)
-unknown what they 'do'
-imagery doesn't exactly reflect business
Good things about logo:
-large client base, logo is known
-clean and crisp design, this does reflect business strategy. (modern digital output)

*on website, everywhere else white house custom color was shorthanded, it was capitalized (WHCC)
